The Newmarket Food Pantry provides an emergency supply of three days of food to our clients, which includes fresh produce as well as canned, non-perishable items, baby needs, pet needs and toiletries.
The Newmarket Farmer’s Market generously donates fresh produce to the food pantry each week the market is open. We are able to accept fresh produce donations at the farmer’s market. We also accept fresh produce donations directly at the food pantry.
In addition to meeting the daily food needs of those most in need, the Newmarket Food Pantry also hosts a Turkey Drive at Thanksgiving and Christmas. In December 2017, 720 turkeys were donated and we shared a portion with the Georgian Food Pantry, Bradford Helping Hand and Inn from the Cold. This initiative is not possible without the generous support of the Newmarket community.
The Food Pantry also donated bicycles to 10 local children at Christmas, and collected and distributed over 150 back packs filled with school needs, providing local children with a great start to the school year.
